Winter Adventure Camp

Its time to send in your deposit for Winter Adventure Camp!  If you are 8 – 18 years old and want to dogsled, ski, snowshoe, ice fish and just enjoy all that Northern Maine can offer in February, you need to be here for Winter Adventure Camp ~ February 18 – 22 2012!

Call Marion to reserve your spot.  Only 14 campers will be accepted this year so that all the campers will have plenty of time with the dogs.

Ice Fishing!

The grandkids are here for the Christmas vacation and have been very busy today cutting holes and catching fish.  They caught three trout and one salmon today.

Moose Pictures

Thanks goes out to a few GREAT Moose Hunters for some great photos!

Lugdon Lodge had three very successful weeks of Moose Hunting this year!

More pictures on the Moose Hunting page!

Ed’s Buck!

Owner, Ed Lugdon, shot this beautiful buck yesterday afternoon while he was cleaning up a few of the bear bait sites.  Official weight – 230lbs!!  Hopefully I’ll get a better picture in the light today or tomorrow, this is off Nick’s cell phone!  Thanks to Kevin, Tom, and Gary for your help getting this gorgeous animal back to the Lodge!

Trapping

Lugdon Lodge is offering another unique outdoor experience this winter.  You can spend an afternoon or even the whole day with Ed on a working trapline.  Ed has been trapping beaver, muskrat and more in Maine for over 50 years.  Your time would include snowshoeing or snowmobiling out to the traps, checking the traps, re-setting the traps, and caring for the hides.  Sound interesting? Give Ed a call at the Lodge to set up a time to go with him.  Trapping Adventures start at $50.00 for an afternoon or plan to spend the whole weekend in one of our cabins with meals included!  Call for specific pricing!

What a Hunt!

4 weeks of Bear Hunting and the first of three Moose Hunts have been extremely successful!  Thanks goes out to Dave, a bear hunter from Connecticut, for these photos!

What a night! Six hunters filled their tags!

The Fishing is GREAT!

Phil's biggest catch at the Lodge

Phil is pictured here with a 21 1/2 inch salmon he caught on Eagle Lake while renting a cabin from us last week!  That week he caught 5 fish over 17 inches!

Fiddlehead Focus

Acting Out was featured in a local St. John Valley paper – Fiddlehead Focus – www.fiddleheadfocus.com!  Thanks for the great article, Monica!

A bit slower this week?

Not really, we spent the week putting Acting Out camping supplies away and preparing the Lodge for weekly cabin rentals and Hunting Adventures.  At the moment, however, it is raining and the grand-children that are here are playing cards and legos at the dining hall.  I am sitting at the window in the main camp and watching two loons glide across the lake.  Peaceful.

THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!

Tonight at 7:00 at the Wallagrass Elementary school our 32 campers and 2 counselors will perform Oliver Twist!  This group received their role assignments on Sunday and have worked soooooo hard to learn lines, blocking and songs all week.  They are ready to show everyone how talented they are!
